The Travis County Archeological Society is providing approximately ten scholarships to allow college and university students to attend the 2023 TAS Annual Meeting in San Marcos. Our scholarships provide registration and a ticket for Saturday night’s meal and banquet speaker. Lodging for Friday and Saturday nights is also provided for those who don’t live within an easy commute of San Marcos. We will work with other organizations that also provide scholarships to enable as many students as possible to attend. For instance, if you receive a registration-only scholarship from another organization but don’t live in San Marcos, Travis County may be able to provide lodging. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

Annual Meeting Schedule in brief

Friday morning - Council of Texas Archeologists Meeting

Friday afternoon - 3 concurrent paper sessions, posters, silent auction, and book room

Friday night Public Forum - speaker: Doug Boyd (Santec), followed by artifact identification

Saturday morning and afternoon - as Friday afternoon plus author talks in the book room

Saturday night Banquet - speaker: Ashley Lemke (U. Wisconsin - Milwaukee)

Sunday morning - TAS Board Meeting
