President Nick Moran called the meeting to order at 7pm at Santa Rita Cantina on 38th Street.
There were no minutes from the January meeting.
Nick announced a movie and lecture on Chauvet Cave would take place Thursday, February 27th in the Alkek 250 Theater on the Texas State University campus in San Marcos.
Pat Hatton announced there would be an Archaeology Fair March 28 at the Nightengale Archeological Center in Kingsland.
Nick asked Nominations Committee Chair Robin Matthew for the slate of new officers for 2020. They were:
Nick Morgan, President
Chris Lintz, Vice President
Imagene Mitcham, Secretary
Caitlin Gulihur, Treasurer
Ken Headrick, Member at Large
Nick Morgan, Field Committee
Leslie Bush, Communications Committee
Approval of the slate was unanimous on a voice vote by chapter members.
Caitlin Gulihur gave the Treasurer’s report. Only 22 paid dues have been received so far for 2020. She is looking into opening a PayPal account so that dues can be paid online. She can set up an account if people will use it.
A box of nametags was passed around for members to take theirs and wear to meetings.
TvCAS member Heather Leonard gave an excellent and informative presentation on “Genomic Sequencing Used to Confirm the Sex of a Controversial Viking burial”.
27 members were in attendance. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm
