The meeting commenced at 7:07 PM. In person attendance was 31, online attendance was 5. 


President Nick Morgan outlaid the current budget as Caitlin was not present. He mentioned that annual dues have been raised and current dues are now up on the website. We are working on a plan to take online payments and info is forthcoming. Motion to accept the January budget report was ratified by all members. Nick detailed each line in the budget, which is available online but paper copies were also available for member perusal. We spoke in detail about recruiting students and Native Americans for the $5,000 scholarship for the Annual Meeting. The budget was accepted by all members present. 


Heather read the January minutes. Minutes were accepted by all members. Nick mentioned that Joyful Horse lab work would commence at Robin and Anne Matthew’s house on Feb.25th. Our speaker for next month is Dr. Alan Slade about the survey he’s doing over Clovis and Folsom. More information will be available soon. 


Our speaker was Mr Chris Ringstaff, staff archeologist from the Texas Department of Transportation. Mr. Ringstaff gave a fascinating presentation about recent archeological investigations along TxDOT's work at several sites in the State Loop 195 right of way in Starr County, including a newly-discovered site. Lithic resources, stone tools, and experimental reproductions were discussed.


After the meeting, President Nick Morgan mentioned that a few people have stepped forward to chair some of the positions available for the Annual Meeting.
