At 7pm, President Nick Morgan of the TCAS made an announcement that he was going to delay the meeting until 7:15 to give people a chance to get there because of the weather and traffic. At 7:15, Nick welcomed everyone in attendance. He also said that since the past secretary had moved, there were no minutes from the last meeting on Nov 19, 2024. There were also no minutes for the January 21 meeting that was cancelled due to bad weather.

Nick mentioned that it was sad to hear about Carolyn Spock and he hadn’t heard any information yet about the funeral. He also said he will stay as president. Ken Headrick will stay as Vice President. Caitlin Guhlihur will continue as Treasurer. Imogene Mitcham will be the new Secretary. Leslie Bush will be the Program Chair.

Caitlin gave the Treasurer’s report. As of 11/1/2024, the balance was $11,444.66. With members now being able to pay dues online and some other transactions that came in during the last couple of months, the total is now $11,950.52. The CD account balance is $5,231.88.

Nick asked for approval of the Treasurer’s report. Kay Killen made the motion, which was seconded and the motion carried. Caitlin added that membership dues are due and run from January 1 through December 31. The cost is $20 for individuals and $30 for family. Cash or checks will be accepted at the meeting.

Nick asked Leslie Bush to introduced the speaker, Myles Miller, who talked about “Mountains, Caves, Storm Gods, Ancestors: The Deep Time Origins of Southern Southwest Cosmologies”. After the program and some questions from people in the audience, Nick thanked Myles and said the next meeting would be March 18, 2025. The meeting was adjourned at 8:57pm with 23 people in attendance.
