President Nick Morgan called the meeting to order at 6:59 p.m. Twenty-six were in attendance.
Caitlyn Guilihur read the Treasurer’s report. Kay Killen Wilson made a motion to approve the report, and Leslie Bush seconded the motion. The report was approved.
Morgan noted that Tuesday lab sessions at the Texas Historical Commission Lab continue, with the focus being on the processing of the Lake Gilmer collection. The lab work starts at 10:00 a.m.
Frank Darr announced that a “Lunch & Learn” is scheduled for August 11, 2026, at the Round Rock Baca Center. The speaker is Bob Odell who will present on his work on a documentary about the Tonkawa.
Kay Killen Wilson shared information about tours of the Gault Site and spoke about the Native American Cultural Center in Austin.
The evening’s presentation, “The Smith Site Revisited” was given by Robin Benson Barnes. The site is located at McKinney Falls State Park in Travis County, Texas.
